Public transit agency Société de transport de Laval (STL) has renewed its trust in GIRO’s software solutions by selecting the HASTUS integrated suite. During a recent upgrade of the HASTUS modules it currently uses to create schedules and manage operations, the STL decided to integrate new functionalities to support its ambitious goal of running a 100% electric bus fleet by 2040. This major electrification program is in line with the STL’s and governmental goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 

This upgrade is part of a broad technology-modernization program to support the STL’s electrification, which entails implementing and upgrading several critical systems, including HASTUS,” said Alexandre Savard, STL’s Program Director – Systems Modernization in Support of Electrification.  

Christine Gauvreau, Executive Director – Customer Experience at STL, adds: “HASTUS software is at the heart of the STL’s operational practices. This upgrade will improve and enhance our service planning and delivery.” 

The STL serves the diverse and growing population of Laval, Quebec’s third-largest city. The agency’s integrated public transit operations require careful planning and efficient management. The latest version of HASTUS software offers a complete and proven set of features for electric-bus planning and operations. The STL will now use the software’s NetPlan module to optimize the connections and timing of routes to improve the experience of public transit users.
