An international RFP and an on-site proof of concept have led RATP Dev London to choose GIRO’s HASTUS software suite as the solution for the complex scheduling and operational needs of their three subsidiaries, London United, London Sovereign and Quality Line.
As a leading operator in the highly competitive London public transport market, RATP Dev London responds to numerous calls for tender each year in addition to managing the complexities of scheduling its staff in compliance with a range of different collective agreements. To meet these and other current and future challenges, such as the transition to electric buses, the operator needed a proven software system that rapidly produces valid and robust integrated solutions for scheduling and operations. The availability of a Web portal to allow drivers to review their assignments and make requests online was also an important consideration.
A proof of concept on RATP Dev London’s network allowed the company to evaluate not only the quality of the results produced, but also the methodology and rapidity of execution, and GIRO’s understanding of the challenges facing public transport operators in London. The HASTUS implementation project got underway after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and advanced well with the teams at RATP Dev London and GIRO collaborating remotely.
“It is crucial for us to have the right tools for all our scheduling and operations activities at all of our subsidiaries,” said Andy Corbett, Commercial Delivery Director at RATP Dev London. “After our thorough review of the products available, we have chosen HASTUS for its demonstrated ability to support our complex requirements.”
“GIRO is delighted to have been able to demonstrate the power and value of the tools in HASTUS for RATP Dev London’s scheduling and operations needs,” said Jean Aubin, GIRO’s President and CEO. “We are confident that our many years of experience supporting bus operators in other great cities around the world will prove valuable to RATP Dev London, especially our long experience supporting other units of RATP Dev. We look forward to a long-lasting, mutually beneficial partnership with RATP Dev London.”
