GIRO’s response to the spread of COVID-19
On this page, we will post updates on how GIRO intends to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our clients’ projects. Please check back regularly for the latest information.
The German publication Nahverkehrs-praxis asked GIRO how we are continuing to serve our clients during the pandemic and how we are preparing for the post-COVID-19 era.
GIRO presented a webinar on planning your route to the new normal, to prepare for the challenges facing public transit in the post-COVID-19 era. An article covering the main points is posted on our News & Insights page. HASTUS clients can view a recording of the webinar by accessing the client section.
GIRO participated in the Canadian Urban Transit Association’s webinar on innovative solutions for public transport in the COVID-19 crisis. Flavie Gagnon and Pierre Giroux presented concrete examples of how agencies around the world are meeting challenges of the COVID-19 crisis and preparing for what’s next.
As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves rapidly in many countries, GIRO’s clients are at the forefront, delivering essential public transport and postal services. Jean Aubin emailed our clients to express our admiration for your efforts and to assure you that GIRO remains fully operational and committed to supporting the success of your activities involving GIRO software.
Jean also informed HASTUS and HASTUS-OnDemand clients that GIRO has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s HASTUS International and Australasian User Group meetings. We will explore what alternative forms of knowledge exchange might be available during the pandemic, and we will keep you informed of any developments.
GIRO is committed to doing everything we can to minimize the impacts of the current situation on our clients’ projects.
To better support our clients who are turning to GIRO for advice on meeting operational challenges from the impacts of COVID-19, we have set up a dedicated email hotline: [email protected]
