March 2011 – GIRO extends its congratulations to two HASTUS clients that recently won Metros Awards at a ceremony held during the 2011 MetroRail conference in Milan, Italy. GIRO’s longest-standing HASTUS client, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) won the Special Merit Award for Commitment to the Environment, while the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), a client since 1999, won the award for Best Metro Americas.
Known as The Metros, the awards recognize outstanding achievements of metro operators and technology providers and celebrate leaders and innovators across the mass transit industry. Winners are selected by a judging panel of independent industry experts.
