Gainesville Regional Transit System makes GIRO’s HASTUS its choice to manage and optimize its bus services
A public Request-for-Proposals process has led to GIRO’s HASTUS software being chosen by Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) to manage and optimize its bus services. RTS selected a range of HASTUS modules to cover its scheduling as well as operations needs, ranging from route management and timetabling to operator assignments and run-time analysis.
The agency attached great importance to obtaining a powerful management and optimization solution that would require no customization – so as to reduce costs and respect a strict implementation timeline – yet it was also critical that the chosen software be able to integrate with various systems.
“The thoroughness and transparency of our procurement process give us every confidence that HASTUS is the right choice for RTS,” said Chip Skinner, Department Marketing and Communications Supervisor at RTS. “We expect HASTUS to be a key component in delivering high-quality transit services that keep pace with our customers’ evolving needs.”
“We are delighted to have been able to demonstrate once more the flexibility of the HASTUS solution as well as its capacity for seamless integration within the RTS software ecosystem,” said Robert Victor, GIRO’s Director, Public Transit Software, for the US market. “We look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with RTS, supporting its vision as the transportation mode of choice for the Gainesville Metropolitan area.”
