The 2010 Australian/Asian HASTUS User Group meeting will be held in Melbourne at the Sebel Albert Park Melbourne Hotel on November 4 and 5.
The meeting will focus on GIRO’s solutions for public transportation planning, scheduling, operations, and customer information, with the participation of customers and consultants from Australia and Asia.
In-depth tutorials will help your organisation improve scheduling and operations methods and explain how to use HASTUS to improve efficiency. GIRO and customer presentations will provide concrete examples and case studies on a wide variety of subjects, including:
- Techniques available to plan or review services, build and optimise vehicle schedules, crew schedules, rosters, and daily operator schedules.
- The basic steps in vehicle and crew scheduling with suggested methods and responses to frequently-asked questions.
- Advanced session on the use of the HASTUS histogram to quickly evaluate schedule efficiency.
- For Minbus users, an explanation of the function and usage of important parameters.
- A presentation of the new NetPlan module for high-level network planning, route synchronisation and cost evaluation.
- An overview of HASTUS tools for rail services, emphasising the new features now available.
- New technology and tools for operator sign-in and sign-out and other dispatch functions.
- Current work in the area of depot management, notably vehicle parking and assignment.
- Techniques and tools to adjust daily vehicle schedules and operator assignments when changes are required due to detours, extra service, absences, vehicle breakdowns, and more.
- Update on HASTUS-Connect tools for interfacing with third-party systems, as well as the numerous configuration and data access functions available to tailor HASTUS to each company’s specific needs.
- Trip planning Web sites, the integration of Microsoft Bing®, and the use of texting applications for stop timetables and other information.
GIRO product experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide live demos of our products, as well as showcase the new features now available with HASTUS 2010 and in the works for 2011. For example, learn about the new Web-based Daily Indicators module and the upcoming Schedule Indicators function.
